This is a look inside the new five-star hotel I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here stars and their families stay in – after the old one was branded a 's** hole'.

The £400-a-night JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa hotel boasts luxurious rooms with stunning views overlooking the ocean, outdoor swimming pools, as well as a tennis court and two on-site restaurants. It also features a private saltwater lagoon, sandy beaches and artificial reef with tropical fish.

Eliminated contestant Nella Rose swapped eating rice and beans for wagyu beef, Nando’s and bacon and cheese burgers as she joked: “Food tastes like crack now,” since leaving the jungle. Taking to Instagram, she showed off the view of Australia’s sunny Gold Coast from her lavish hotel room and shared a clip of her huge bath tub overlooking the skyline as she filmed the blinds going up during sunrise.

Meanwhile Rochelle Humes – whose husband Marvin Humes is still in the jungle – gave fans a glimpse of her hotel room at the Marriott as she got ready to head to camp. Saying JLS star Marvin would approve, she told fans as she panned the camera round: “Look how nice the view is outside. That will soften the blow a little bit won’t it [when he comes out].”

In the past ITV had put celebrities exiting camp up in the five-star Palazzo Versace hotel nearby. But although former campmate, footballer Wayne Bridge, ate bugs and slept in a hammock when he appeared on the show in 2016, wife Frankie thought she had it tougher in the hotel.

Not mincing her words, the former Saturdays star complained of ‘moth-eaten cushions’ and having to pay $2 (around £1) for a pot of ketchup during her two-week stay. She even branded the hotel a “s***hole” and said that getting a coffee brought over took two hours.

Speaking to Alan Carr on his Life’s a Beach podcast, Frankie revealed: “There were no cushions. When we asked for cushions, they kinda rolled their eyes. When they brought them out it was like the moths had had them. Adam Thomas’s wife asked for a pot of ketchup for her little one and it was $2!”

Unrelated to Frankie’s gripes, ITV switched to the Marriott on the Gold Coast last year – which hopefully makes the grade. A one-night stay at the hotel will set you back from £256 a night, with the swankier suites that overlook an ocean view costing £650 a night.

The hotel's website reads: ”Unwind at a five-star resort in the town of Surfers Paradise. JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa boasts luxurious rooms, award-winning service and a covetable hotel location on Ferny Avenue.”

It continued: ”Our redesigned hotel rooms and suites offer an ideal setting to relax, complete with high-speed Wi-Fi, plush bedding and pristine marble bathrooms. Wake up feeling refreshed and ready for adventure in Surfers Paradise. We offer family-friendly resort facilities, from peaceful saltwater lagoons and an outdoor freshwater pool with a slide to a fitness centre and sports court.

”One-of-a-kind experiences at our hotel include culinary cooking classes, JW Garden herb planting and guided tours, daily fish feeding, snorkelling in the saltwater lagoons and much more. Leave your family vacation to Surfers Paradise richer than when you arrived at JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa.”

Speaking about the decision to switch hotels, a telly insider told The Sun back in 2022: “ITV has used the Versace ever since the series came to Queensland in 2004. Those classic scenes of the muddy, exhausted celebs arriving in the glamorous, gleaming lobby are part of I’m A Celeb’s very fabric. The new hotel is lovely, but just different to the lavish opulence of the Versace, which is so well-known to viewers.”

*I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX
