What is on us in banking?
An on-us check is a negotiable item (check) which is drawn on the same bank that it is presented to for payment. For example, a check drawn on Bank of America, presented for deposit at another branch of Bank of America, would be considered an on-us check.
A transaction carried out at any other ATM is called an Off-Us transaction. For instance, if a card issued by bank A is used at an ATM of bank A then it is an On-Us transaction; if the card is used at a WLA or at an ATM of any other bank, the transaction is Off-Us.
Onus is a formal or sophisticated way to say "responsibility" or "duty." It sounds a little like the unrelated word owner, so think about the person with onus as owner of the responsibility.
Code | Transaction Type |
---|---|
S | Payment / Sale / Debit |
C | Credit / Refund |
A | Authorization |
D | Delayed Capture |
An On-Us Check is both originated and deposited/cashed at the same bank or credit union. An On-Us Check is simply a check that is deposited or cashed at the same financial institution from which it originated.
For instance, if a card issued by bank A is used at an ATM of bank A then it is an On-Us transaction; if the card issued by bank A is used at a WLA or at an ATM of bank B, it is an Off-Us transaction.
"Remote-on-Us" transaction is when a card holder goes to the ATM machine of another Bank other than his or her own bank to make a withdrawal.
oner·ous ˈän-ə-rəs ˈō-nə- : being difficult and unpleasant to do or to deal with. an onerous task.
The onus is on employers to follow health and safety laws. The onus of proof lies with the prosecution. The report puts the onus of children's early education firmly on the parents.
/ (ˈəʊnəs) / nounplural onuses. a responsibility, task, or burden.
What are bank transaction codes?
Bank statement transaction codes are the internal codes that are used on a bank statement line to identify the type of transaction being reported.
The three main types of bank transactions are deposits, withdrawals, and transfers. Deposits put money into an account, withdrawals take money out, and transfers move money between accounts.
The four types of financial transactions are purchases, sales, payments, and receipts. Businesses use the accrual or cash method of accounting to record such transactions. Financial transactions in accounting are always bidirectional, unlike non-financial transactions.
Cash It At The Issuing Bank
Banks aren't required to cash checks for noncustomers. However, many will cash an “on-us” check, a check written by a customer to a payee who is not a customer. If it's convenient, head to the issuing bank in person.
On-Us Check must be available the Next Business Day. Can be held if not deposited at a brick-and-mortar branch of the bank. U.S. Treasury Check must be available the Next Business Day.
All U.S. Treasury checks are printed on watermarked paper. When held up to the light, the watermark reads “U.S. Treasury” from both the front and the back. Any check should be suspected as counterfeit if the check has no watermark, or the watermark is visible without holding the check up to light.
The US Debit Card is a versatile financial product that enables federal agencies to make payments with a prepaid debit card. It provides an electronic alternative to checks or cash, and creates an electronic payment that is safe, reliable, and convenient.
U.S. Bank bill pay is a digital service that allows you to make payments to any individual or business within the United States. Using our bill pay service, you can eliminate time and money spent on paper checks, stamps and trips to the mailbox.
A wire transfer is a method of transmitting money electronically between people or businesses in which no physical money is exchanged. The sender is the one who provides all the instructions for the transfer, which may include the recipient's name, bank, account number, amount, and sometimes a pickup location.
Remote Transaction means Transactions made using your Card Information only. These include (but are not limited to) Transactions made by mail, telephone, online or email.
What does remote mean in banking?
Remote payments are a way of completing card transactions without the customer having to be present. Also known as “cardholder not present” (CNP) transactions, these purchases are usually carried out over the phone or online, but can also occur in a couple of other situations.
- Internet payments.
- In-app payments.
- Telephone payments.
- Mail order payments.
“Stahp” is an exaggerated spelling of the word “Stop.” Used in texting and on social media, “Stahp” is a playful or passive aggressive way of saying “Stop.” People often say it when they want to end a conversation, or if they see something cute, funny, or unexpected.
Smexy, as a specific blend of smart and sexy, is entered on Urban Dictionary in 2004 and appears on Twitter by 2008. Smexy Books, for one instance of the term, launched in 2010 to provide reviews of romance novels—which are presumably both smart and sexy.
God, God, God, God. Online jargon, also known as text message shorthand, used primarily in texting, online chat, instant messaging, email, blogs, and newsgroup postings, these types of abbreviations are also referred to as chat acronyms.
