Tipping tour guides in Prague is generally expected and appreciated. While it is not mandatory, tipping is a common practice to show gratitude for a guide's services. It is customary to tip around 10% of the tour price, or you can round up to the nearest convenient amount.
Most etiquette experts suggest a tip of 10-20% of the cost of a tour for outdoor guides like ours. A typical gratuity on a full-day tour is $20-$40 per person, and on a half-day trip, $15-$20 per guest. Exceptional service often earns more: Did they go out of their way to show you something you're interested in?
Tipping in the Czech Republic is commonly expected. Foreign visitors are often expected to tip at least 10%. (N.B. This practice holds true mainly in Prague and leading tourist "meccas" such as Cesky Krumlov, not in the general countryside, where foreigners are not expected to do anything more than locals.)
Basic tipping etiquette says, yes, you should tip your tour guide. There are exceptions if your specific tour experience includes gratuities or you simply didn't have a good time, but in general, tipping your guide at the end of the tour is customary in the U.S. and Europe, though it's much more common in the States.

GUIDES: tipping is optional, if you join a free tour where the guides are paid from tips only, you should leave them at least 300 CZK / person. With private guides it depends on your satisfaction and the size of your group, or if he/she did something extra for you. You can give them from 0 – 500 CZK.
Tour Guides
For a couple of hours with a private guide, a tip of €10–20 for the group is fine (more if the guide goes above and beyond, such as booking advance tickets or arranging for a driver for you).
If you loved the tour a 20% tip would be appropriate. If you thought it was just ok, maybe 15, 10, or even 5 percent tip seems reasonable. To clarify, that means per person in your group. If you thought it was awful let your conscience be your guide.
For a tour that only lasts a few hours, tip your guide 10 percent to 20 percent the cost of the tour. How much you tip also depends on the size of your tour, so you should tip more for a more personalized experience. For a multi-day tour, you should tip your guide $5 to $10 per day on the last day.
How does tipping work in Prague?
Tipping in Prague is not as common as it is in other European cities, so you don't need to feel obligated to tip everywhere. Generally speaking, restaurants will include a surcharge of 8-10% on the bill, but if this isn't the case, 10-15% is the standard.
Pay by mobile (via Google Pay and Apple Pay) and major credit cards (including contactless cards) are widely accepted at hotels, shops, cafés, bars and restaurants in Prague. It is nevertheless advisable to carry some Czech Crowns in cash, as local shops, markets and smaller cafés often prefer it.
Mid-range restaurants: A dinner for two people at a mid-range restaurant in Prague can cost anywhere from 800 to 1,500 CZK ($35 to $65 USD), including drinks.
Tipping guidelines
We recommend tipping the equivalent of $10USD to $12USD per person per day for your Tour Director and the equivalent of $3USD per person per day for your driver(s). If applicable, we also recommend the equivalent of $2USD per local guide.
Tour guides should never touch a guest — unless it's offering a hand for an awkward step or helping with gear related to the tour. Show interest in where they're from: The number one way to engage with guests is to ask them questions.
European diners are not expected to leave tips as waiters are usually guaranteed an hourly wage and other protections. A few years ago, I planned to leave a generous tip for the waiter after my first meal at a restaurant in Italy. I had found the service first-rate. But my companion said, “Nobody tips here.”
It's generally better to tip in the local currency to ensure that the recipient can easily use the tip. Many places in Europe, especially in tourist areas, will accept tips in US dollars, but it's always a good idea to ask beforehand. Tipping anyone with US dollars outside of the United States is extremely insulting.

Your budget: Finally, consider your own budget and how much you can afford to tip. While there is no set amount for how much you should tip, most people leave somewhere between 5 and 15 euros. If you are on a tight budget, you may want to aim for the lower end of this range.
In the Czech Republic, it's considered polite but not obligatory to tip waitstaff in restaurants, tourist guides, and taxi drivers. But if you're looking for a general rule for services in the U.S., you should typically tip 15% to 20% of the bill, according to most etiquette experts we interviewed.
For a single day bus charter trip, the industry average for the expected tip amount is 10-20% of the total cost of the trip.
How much to tip on free walking tours? On most free tours, €10 is considered a decent tip. Sometimes you will feel you want to tip more than that, so do. If you're on a tight budget, you might tip €5 and I've seen people who apologised while doing that, but the guides have always been very graceful about it.
But definitely tip your tour guide
If you're part of a large group tour, then a tip of five euros for a half day or 10 euros for a full day, per person, is recommended. If you're on a small or individual guided tour, then the tip should be 10 percent of the tour's total cost.
According to the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), guests should tip housekeeping anywhere between $1 to $5 per night for a mid-range or business hotel. For luxury hotels where the staff offers daily cleaning services and nightly turndown services, guests should leave a little more.
