On June 1st, Pride Month started again in the United States. For a month, the LGBTQI+ community receives extra attention. We also celebrate Pride in Amsterdam with the annual event Pride Amsterdam. Pride Amsterdam takes place this year from July 27 to August 4,and this year’s theme is ‘My Gender, My Pride‘. You can read all about the colourful events happening during this week here!

Amsterdam Pride Week: Canal Parade
When you think of Pride Amsterdam, chances are you picture the colourful boats in the centre of Amsterdam. Every year, it’s a spectacular sight! To get the best spot, you need to be by the canals early or arrange a boat to have the best view possible. The Amsterdam Canal Parade takes place this year on August 3.
Pride March 2024
On Saturday, July 27, the Pride March Amsterdam will take place. This event features a large, colorful parade through the city, drawing attention to the normalization of the LGBTQIA+ community. You gather at Amstelveld at 11:00 AM, then the parade moves towards Vondelpark. Once there, various sports and games activities are available for all ages!
Amsterdam Pride Week: Open Air Cinema
During the Pink Film Days, Queer films are shown at various locations in Amsterdam, completely free to visit. On Tuesday, July 30, around 400 seats will be ready in Oosterpark, July 30 and 31 at Mercatorplein in West, and August 2 at Gershwinplein.
Amsterdam Pride Week: Pride at the Beach
This year, Pride at the Beach returns. Pride Amsterdam extends to the beach at Zandvoort aan Zee. You can enjoy various events, games, exhibitions, and parties in sunny Zandvoort for three days.
